Another amazing month has flown by.
We had a wonderful August, and have exciting things to look forward to this month.
Let's start with August, at the Woodman we did a review of the objectives we set ourselves at the start of the year. Polly led the session and because it was a small group, it led to some really in-depth conversations, with some adjustments in our thinking, expectations and needs. It was a really fruitful session for all of us and I think we all left feeling very positive.

Incidentally, we were all looking fab in our summer dresses, a definite photo opportunity.
In the afternoon we were delighted to host the founders of HOWAMI, Nikki Joy Berridge, and Kate Penning.
Nikki Joy and Kate from Howami , a tech for good impact and mission driven start up- introduced Million Moons .....
Howami’s mission is to create a new generation of digital tools that help young people understand their bodies, emotions, and menstrual cycles with confidence, compassion, and curiosity.
By combining lived experience, creativity, and tech for good Howami are building a future where menstrual well-being is understood as an essential part of emotional health, not something hidden or endured.
The Million Moons initiative was thoughtfully designed, after realising that traditional funding routes couldn't move at the pace the mission demanded. It is a global storytelling and inclusive, gift-inspired fundraising campaign, inviting one million people to share a moment, memory, or lived experience of menstruation and contribute £1 towards funding the work.
This will create a powerful cultural archive in 2026 that breaks stigma, amplifies unheard voices, and helps fund the next generation of accessible menstrual well-being tools for young people everywhere.
Needless to say, the conversation and sharing of stories in the group was wonderful and it really highlighted how important this work is.
There will soon be an opportunity to share your story and donate £1 to this important work, I have to take my hat off to Nikki Joy for coming up with such and amazing fund raising idea.

Then we had our meeting at the Duncombe Arms, where Chloe Ambrose talked to us about the Boos, Ooos and Woos of Social Media. This is her second conversation with Just Women, and she will be appearing at the The Woodman too. A very interactive session with no slides, just talk. We all got a lot out of it, and we agreed that there is a need for a more technical session, learning how to make things work. Chloe will be talking to us about setting this up, it will be at Arthur Rank, and will be a paid for session. I am sure it will really help a lot of us in coming to grips with making things work the way we need them to. We will let you know when we have sorted out a date and time.
We also had a lovely social meet up, Carly did some yoga for us and it made me realise I need to start yoga practice again. Thanks Carly for giving your time up to lead us through that.
This month our social is on the 28th and Ula the Queen of Rest is going to give us a taster of her rest sessions. I know that will be wonderful. you can buy your ticket on the link below, £15.00. There will be time to chat and refreshments, 7:15pm at Whaddon Village Hall, on Church Street, Whaddon . You can't miss it as you drive through the village.

We are delighted that Armajia is going to share some of her art with us at the Woodman this month, she will even be bringing in some real pieces. Personally I love her work, and I am sure you will all be blown away too. She presented it as part of her Just Me at the Duncombe Arms and we felt that you all needed to have the opportunity to meet her and see what she is producing.
I am going to be talking about The Power of Mentoring at The Arthur Rank, I hope you will be able to join us there, and you can be surprised by my high tech presentation!
At the Duncombe Arms we have Just Me with Nathalie Cordell followed by Just Present with Judith Davis-Roach about The Wheel of Life. Both will be well worth listening to, so join us if you can.
I think we have spoken quite a lot about the need for us to start charging for the meetings. We try to keep our costs as low as possible by using free space, that apart we do have overheads, the tech all costs money, and we do need to advertise in order to build the network. We have a significant number of subscribers to our website now, so it has been worthwhile building the website. but we are already having to pay extra just to send just one newsletter a month, because we have gone over 100 subscribers. Sending two will cost more. Even Google does not want to deliver to everyone because we have too many people!
So from now on the first meeting will be free and then we are asking you to become a Member and for a subscription of £6.00 a month or £60 a year. For that you can attend as many meetings as you want, or as few ....
If you want to opt to pay monthly please set up a standing order to

Well that's all for now. hope to see you in the coming weeks.
